The Opportunity:
A self-employed Brass Teacher is sought to provide high-quality instruction in trumpet, trombone, and French horn. The role offers flexibility with the potential to increase hours based on demand, and the successful candidate will contribute to the development of young musicians through individual and ensemble teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of brass instruments including trumpet, trombone, and French horn.
- Prepare students for Trinity and ABRSM examinations with a proven record of success.
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that encourage musical development and confidence.
- Support the school’s music ensembles and provide accompaniment where required.
- Maintain a consistent and professional approach to teaching and communication with students and parents.
- Collaborate with the school’s music department to enhance the overall music program.
- Provide regular feedback and progress reports to students and parents.
- Attend school events and contribute to the school’s musical culture when appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching brass instruments at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare students for Trinity and ABRSM examinations.
- Strong musical background and performance experience in brass.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage own schedule.
Preferred
- Experience in running ensembles or leading group rehearsals.
- Ability to accompany students during lessons.
- Experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Flexibility to increase teaching hours based on demand.
Compensation & Benefits:
