The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Visiting Guitar Teacher to provide high-quality instrumental instruction to students at a school known for its academic and musical achievements. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-employed teacher to deliver lessons in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality guitar lessons (acoustic/classical) to students of varying abilities.
  • Work closely with the Music School Manager to manage service agreements and lesson arrangements.
  • Maintain a professional and engaging teaching environment that supports student development.
  • Attend interviews and meetings as required to discuss lesson plans and student progress.
  • Ensure compliance with the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Provide regular updates on student progress to the Music School Manager.
  • Promote the school’s values and vision through your teaching and interactions with students and parents.
  • Support the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced guitar teacher (acoustic/classical).
  • Ability to teach students of all ages and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Willingness to comply with the school’s policies and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within an independent or selective school setting.
  • Familiarity with the UK education system and curriculum standards.
  • Experience with online or written examinations and interviews.
  • Knowledge of bursary and scholarship programs.
  • Experience with students who have additional needs or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
