The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Breakfast Club Assistant to support students in a vibrant, inclusive school setting. This role offers the chance to work with enthusiastic children and contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the breakfast club program, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students.
  • Support students with their meals and social interaction, promoting a positive start to the school day.
  • Assist in the supervision and care of students, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student care.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that supports all students, including those with hearing impairments.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
  • Ensure the breakfast club area is clean, organized, and in line with health and safety standards.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities provided by the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine commitment to working with children and supporting their well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or care setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently, as well as as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired students.
  • Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) or willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience in a breakfast club or similar role.
  • Understanding of inclusive education practices.
