The Opportunity:

As a Plumbing Lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of skilled trades by delivering high-quality teaching and learning across City & Guilds L1-3 programmes. You will inspire learners, support their progression into employment and apprenticeships, and contribute to the development of industry-relevant curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality sessions across Plumbing programmes up to Level 3 City & Guilds.
  • Track and monitor learner progress, implementing timely interventions to support achievement and progression.
  • Contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of the Plumbing curriculum.
  • Assess learner work to awarding body requirements and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plumbing practice and qualification frameworks.
  • Support learners academically and personally, promoting positive behaviour and employability skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 Plumbing qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, DET or equivalent)
  • Recent and relevant industry experience in the plumbing trade
  • Experience delivering Plumbing programmes up to Level 3 City & Guilds
  • Experience supporting learners with varied needs and abilities
  • Experience developing teaching resources and curriculum materials
  • Experience using digital learning platforms and educational technology
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing principles, installation, maintenance and safety
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or above
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding

Preferred

  • Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1)
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
  • Experience contributing to quality assurance processes
  • Experience working with employers or industry partners
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills or English and Maths support alongside vocational delivery
