The Opportunity:
As a Careers Adviser, you will lead and deliver a high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme that empowers students to make informed decisions about their future. You will work collaboratively with staff, students, and external partners to raise aspirations and transform life chances, ensuring every student is equipped for success in education, training, and employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive and inclusive CEIAG programme that aligns with the school’s vision and values.
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external partners to support students throughout their secondary journey.
- Provide impartial and high-quality careers advice and guidance to students and their families.
- Coordinate events, workshops, and activities that enhance students’ understanding of career pathways and opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of the CEIAG programme to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with student needs.
- Promote and model the Co-op values in all aspects of the role.
- Support students in making informed decisions about further education, training, and employment options.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in delivering careers education, information, advice and guidance in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience working with young people and an understanding of the importance of career development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including external partners and academy staff.
- Commitment to the values of inclusivity, equity, and opportunity.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or academy within the Co-op Academies Trust.
- Knowledge of the Co-op values and how they can be applied in a school environment.
- Experience with pastoral support and student welfare.
- Experience with innovative approaches to careers education and guidance.
