The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Careers Manager to support students in their future career planning and development. This role is essential in helping students make informed decisions about their educational and professional paths, aligning with the school's mission to nurture well-rounded, confident individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver a comprehensive careers programme for students.
  • Provide individualised career guidance and support to students and their families.
  • Coordinate with external organisations to provide work experience, apprenticeships, and other career-related opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, universities, and further education providers.
  • Organise and deliver careers fairs, workshops, and other events to engage students and parents.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of careers provision to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support students in applying for higher education, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other school departments to integrate careers education into the curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development, or willingness to work towards obtaining it.
  • Proven experience in careers guidance or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational setting, particularly within a school.
  • Knowledge of current careers trends and developments in education and employment.
  • Experience with using careers-related software and tools.
