Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored learning programmes for students with autism and complex needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans that meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Support students in developing communication, social and life skills through a child-centred curriculum.
  • Work closely with therapists and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and carers.
  • Promote a culture of trust, honesty and kindness within the classroom and across the school community.
  • Encourage student independence and self-confidence through consistent and positive support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Early Years, Primary or Special Education settings.
  • Proven ability to work with children with autism and complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration.
  • Experience in delivering personalised learning and support plans.

Preferred

  • Experience with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
  • Background in teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Experience in delivering support for students with a range of learning needs.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 curriculum.
