The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Mandarin Chinese Teacher to support its successful Modern Foreign Languages department. This role offers the chance to contribute to the Mandarin Excellence Programme and enhance students’ language skills at A Level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning in Mandarin Chinese, including lesson planning and delivery
  • Assist in developing and delivering A Level and GCSE Chinese courses
  • Help students prepare for HSK examinations and Edexcel A-level assessments
  • Collaborate with the Modern Foreign Languages department on curriculum innovation
  • Provide individual and group tuition to students requiring additional support
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly
  • Participate in departmental meetings and staff development sessions
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Experience teaching or assisting with Mandarin Chinese at A Level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience with the Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP)
  • Familiarity with Edexcel and AQA curricula
  • Experience in developing innovative teaching resources
  • Knowledge of HSK examination standards
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural educational setting
