The Opportunity:

As a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across full-time and part-time programmes. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and assessing learning activities while promoting essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across a range of full-time and part-time programmes.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities to ensure student progress and engagement.
  • Promote essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and support the delivery of basic and key skills.
  • Maximise learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups.
  • Ensure an outstanding learning experience for all students.
  • Support the development of teaching materials and innovative approaches to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of the learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Comprehensive subject knowledge in Carpentry & Joinery.
  • Understanding of current educational initiatives and teaching practices.
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities effectively.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with learner management systems and virtual learning environments.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and student record systems.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
