The Opportunity:

As an English Lecturer - Access to HE, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across a variety of full-time and part-time programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to supporting students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across a range of full-time and part-time programs.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities while promoting essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and support the delivery of basic and key skills.
  • Maximize learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups.
  • Ensure an outstanding learning experience for all students.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching materials and strategies.
  • Support the personal and academic development of students through individualized guidance and feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current educational initiatives.
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience with learner management systems, student record systems, virtual learning environments, and e-learning platforms.
  • Familiarity with Access to HE qualifications and curriculum development.
  • Experience in developing and delivering teaching materials that support essential skills such as literacy and numeracy.
  • A creative, innovative approach to teaching and learning.
