The Opportunity:

As a Lecturer in Education and Childcare, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across a variety of full-time and part-time programmes. Your role will be central to supporting students in developing essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability, while contributing to curriculum planning and ensuring a positive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of full-time and part-time education and childcare programmes.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities that promote essential skills and support student progress.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and support the delivery of basic and key skills.
  • Maximize learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups.
  • Use digital tools and platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Support students in achieving their goals through personalized guidance and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with current educational initiatives and incorporate them into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Comprehensive subject knowledge in education and childcare.
  • Strong understanding of current educational initiatives and teaching methodologies.
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience with learner management systems, student record systems, virtual learning environments, and e-learning platforms.
  • Familiarity with innovative approaches to developing teaching materials.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and development.
  • Demonstrated success in improving learner attendance, retention, and punctuality.
