The Opportunity:
As a Lecturer in Education and Childcare, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across a variety of full-time and part-time programmes. Your role will be central to supporting students in developing essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and digital capability, while contributing to curriculum planning and ensuring a positive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of full-time and part-time education and childcare programmes.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities that promote essential skills and support student progress.
- Contribute to curriculum development and support the delivery of basic and key skills.
- Maximize learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups.
- Use digital tools and platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Support students in achieving their goals through personalized guidance and encouragement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning environment.
- Stay up to date with current educational initiatives and incorporate them into teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Comprehensive subject knowledge in education and childcare.
- Strong understanding of current educational initiatives and teaching methodologies.
- Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities effectively.
Preferred
- Experience with learner management systems, student record systems, virtual learning environments, and e-learning platforms.
- Familiarity with innovative approaches to developing teaching materials.
- Experience in curriculum planning and development.
- Demonstrated success in improving learner attendance, retention, and punctuality.
