The Opportunity:
As a Casual Theatre Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and operating the technical equipment used in the school’s 600-seat auditorium, The Great Hall. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for technical theatre and the ability to work flexibly across weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain technical theatre equipment to the highest standards.
- Support the delivery of shows, events, and productions in the school’s auditorium.
- Assist with the setup, running, and breakdown of stage and technical elements.
- Collaborate with the venue team to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Keep detailed records of equipment usage and maintenance.
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times.
- Provide support during rehearsals and performances as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Familiarity with technical theatre equipment and systems.
- A keen interest in theatre production and stagecraft.
- Ability to work flexibly across weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a theatre or events setting.
- Knowledge of lighting, sound, and stage machinery.
- Experience with event management or production support.
- A background in education or school environments.
