The Opportunity:

As a Global Studies Teacher – Summer School, you will inspire students aged 8–17 from around the world with dynamic, thought-provoking lessons. This role is ideal for educators passionate about global issues and committed to nurturing critical thinking and curiosity in a supportive, academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive Global Studies lessons that encourage critical thinking and cultural awareness.
  • Plan and deliver student-centred sessions tailored to a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to assessments and reports in line with academic standards.
  • Support students pastorally, ensuring a warm and inclusive atmosphere within a residential community.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Director and wider team to refine and enhance the Global Studies curriculum.
  • Promote a culture of discussion, confidence, and curiosity among students.
  • Uphold the high academic and pastoral standards expected in an independent school setting.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Global Studies or a related subject.
  • Proven ability to engage and inspire students of mixed abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in a boarding or residential school setting.
  • Familiarity with international education and global issues.
  • Experience with cross-cultural teaching and learning.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Passion for global citizenship and international affairs.
