The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated History and Politics Teacher with the potential to take on a Head of Year role. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing department and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and school leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History and Politics across Key Stages 3 to 5 with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A Level.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the enrichment programme.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student engagement.
  • Assist in the management of a Year group, if appointed to the Head of Year role.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and school-wide initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of respect, achievement, and equality within the school community.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities and support student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in History and Politics up to KS5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Experience in a school environment, with a proven track record of student success.

Preferred

  • Experience in leadership or management within a school setting.
  • Ability to teach a second subject, such as Politics.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with the Advanced Thinking School framework or similar initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
