The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and flexible Casual Theatre Technician to support the technical operation of a vibrant 266-seat theatre on campus. This role offers the chance to work with a diverse range of productions and contribute to the cultural life of the school and wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the technical setup, operation, and breakdown of stage productions and events.
  • Maintain and manage theatre equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Support the running of school events, including the Whole School Show and annual dance show.
  • Collaborate with theatre staff, performers, and external groups to deliver high-quality productions.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met during all theatre-related activities.
  • Provide technical support for site-specific events across the school campus.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of theatre spaces and facilities.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant technical expertise in theatre operations and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • A passion for theatre and a hands-on, enthusiastic approach.
  • Commitment to promoting the school's ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in stage management or technical theatre roles.
  • Knowledge of lighting, sound, and stage machinery.
  • Familiarity with theatre software or management systems.
  • Experience working in educational or performing arts environments.
