The Opportunity:

As a Catering Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of catering services across the Trust’s schools. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, hygienic, and nutritious meals that meet the needs of students and staff, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of catering services across multiple schools.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, procurement, and inventory to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and support to catering staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
  • Ensure all catering activities align with the school’s mission and values, including promoting healthy lifestyles and inclusion.
  • Liaise with senior management to report on performance and address any operational challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing catering operations in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Experience in supervising and training catering staff.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
  • Familiarity with school meal programs and nutrition guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and wellbeing initiatives in schools.
  • Experience with digital systems for managing catering operations.
