The Opportunity:
As a Catering Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of catering services across the Trust’s schools. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, hygienic, and nutritious meals that meet the needs of students and staff, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of catering services across multiple schools.
- Ensure consistent food quality, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Monitor and manage budgets, procurement, and inventory to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to support compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and support to catering staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Ensure all catering activities align with the school’s mission and values, including promoting healthy lifestyles and inclusion.
- Liaise with senior management to report on performance and address any operational challenges.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in managing catering operations in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Experience in supervising and training catering staff.
Preferred
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
- Familiarity with school meal programs and nutrition guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and wellbeing initiatives in schools.
- Experience with digital systems for managing catering operations.
