Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in English.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and fostering a love of learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
- Take on a leadership role as Second in Charge of English, contributing to departmental planning and staff development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to help students reach their potential.
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods into practice.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS and relevant teaching experience.
- Proven ability to teach English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Experience in a leadership or middle management role within a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and pastoral care procedures.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Passion for English literature and language.
