The Opportunity:

As the Head of Languages Faculty, you will lead and inspire a team of dedicated educators, driving excellence in language learning and student achievement. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of language education and make a lasting impact on student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Languages Faculty, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student attainment, engagement, and progression in languages.
  • Provide professional development and support to faculty members to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align the faculty’s vision with the school’s strategic goals.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the faculty.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Represent the faculty in meetings, conferences, and external events, promoting the school’s values and achievements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in languages, with the ability to teach French across all key stages.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of teachers and support staff.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Spanish at Key Stage 3.
  • A track record of successful curriculum development and implementation.
  • Experience in leading a department through periods of growth and expansion.
  • Familiarity with Catholic values and ethos in an educational context.
