The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Chemistry and Biology Tutor to provide maternity cover for 12 months. The role involves teaching GCSE Combined Trilogy Science and BTEC Applied Science content. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate science teacher to make a meaningful impact on student learning and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and deliver GCSE Combined Trilogy Science and BTEC Applied Science content effectively.
• Support students in achieving strong progression rates to university and apprenticeships.
• Contribute to the development of science curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with the science department to enhance teaching and learning practices.
• Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students as needed.
• Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
• Engage in research and innovation within science education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in Chemistry and Biology.
• Strong subject knowledge in science and ability to teach GCSE and BTEC courses.
• Experience in a sixth form or college setting.
• Commitment to student progress and attainment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience with curriculum development and enrichment activities.
• Familiarity with digital education tools and online teaching platforms.
