As a Chemistry Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education to students across all key stages. You will be part of a dynamic department focused on inspiring students, raising aspirations, and driving academic excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to students at all levels, including Key Stage 5
- Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning resources that promote student progress and attainment
- Use ongoing assessment and feedback to support student learning and track progress
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Leader for Science and Subject Leader for Chemistry to ensure consistent delivery of the science curriculum
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Science Department through shared best practice and professional development
- Support the whole person development of students through involvement in enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities
- Engage in school-wide initiatives that promote community spirit and charitable work
- Participate in staff wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a positive, supportive working environment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Chemistry at Key Stage 5
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
- Commitment to high-quality planning and creative teaching and learning
- Experience in using ongoing assessment and feedback to support student progress
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong Catholic ethos
- Background in leading or contributing to departmental development
- Experience with curriculum design and innovation in science education
- Involvement in extracurricular or enrichment activities
- Experience in supporting student wellbeing and personal development
