The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using school systems and data to inform teaching and intervention strategies.
  • Maintain a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers through meetings and school systems to provide updates on student progress.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of extra-curricular activities and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum action groups to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s values, attitudes, and ethos in all aspects of teaching and student interaction.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage self-reflection, independence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience.
  • Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.

Preferred

  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to educating the whole child.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
