The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Chemistry Teacher to join its senior school team. This role will involve teaching GCSE and A Level Chemistry, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality instruction and promoting student attainment through innovative and positive teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons at GCSE and A Level, ensuring student engagement and academic success.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with the National Curriculum for England.
- Promote a culture of independent learning and critical thinking in the classroom.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the school’s science program beyond the classroom.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and internationally to enhance science education.
- Support student progress through regular assessment, feedback, and individualized learning plans.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate new teaching methods and technologies.
- Contribute to the wider school community through staff meetings, professional development, and extracurricular involvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at GCSE and A Level.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high student attainment through effective teaching practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the principles of positive education and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching BTEC Applied Science.
- Experience in developing and leading science-related co-curricular activities.
- Familiarity with international education systems and cross-cultural teaching environments.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and digital learning tools.
