The Opportunity:

Join a school seeking a passionate and experienced History Teacher to deliver engaging instruction and foster critical thinking in students. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in teaching GCSE and A-Level History and a commitment to academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England (NCfE)
  • Develop students' analytical and evaluative skills through discussion-based learning
  • Create and implement differentiated teaching strategies for diverse learners
  • Utilize primary and secondary sources to enhance historical understanding
  • Organize educational trips and activities that support curriculum learning
  • Monitor and assess student progress in History consistently and effectively
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-subject and international learning opportunities
  • Promote intercultural understanding through historical contexts

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in History or a related field
  • Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching History in a secondary school setting
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE and A-Level History
  • Strong knowledge of historical periods, themes, and historiography

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative history education methodologies
  • Experience with assessment and monitoring student progress in history
  • Familiarity with using technology in the classroom
  • Experience organizing and leading extracurricular activities related to history
