Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised guidance and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance departmental performance.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of co-curricular activities that promote scientific curiosity.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using a range of assessment methods.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new teaching techniques.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular involvement and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 3 and A level.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Background in STEM education or related fields.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Familiarity with non-selective education principles.
