The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of or Teacher of Computer Science to join a dynamic department that delivers high-quality education across KS3, KS4, and KS5. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious teacher to contribute to a department that consistently achieves excellent results and offers GCSE and A-Level Computer Science courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Computer Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that promotes computational thinking and problem-solving.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results in GCSE and A-Level Computer Science.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s academic and co-curricular offering.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior teachers and students.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of computer science and integrate new technologies into teaching.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science.
  • Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and achieve excellent student outcomes.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
  • Experience with GCSE and A-Level Computer Science qualifications.
  • Familiarity with OCR and AQA exam boards.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
  • ECTs will be considered for this role.
