The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Religious Studies Teacher to join an established and popular department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students at GCSE and A Level, while contributing to a vibrant and dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Religious Studies to GCSE and A Level students, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Religious Studies curriculum across all year groups.
  • Organise and lead educational trips to enhance students’ learning and reflection.
  • Support students in exploring ethical and philosophical questions through discussion and debate.
  • Encourage community engagement through local volunteering opportunities.
  • Promote a Catholic ethos while welcoming all faiths and none.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality educational experience.
  • Participate in the school’s extensive co-curricular programme and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Studies at GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental trips and community projects.
  • Familiarity with Catholic values and an appreciation of interfaith education.
  • Experience with ethical and philosophical teaching methods.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
