The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join a dynamic department. This role involves teaching across all year groups and contributing to a thriving Science Department. The successful candidate will inspire students and play a key role in the school’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons to students from Year 6 through to Year 13.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies that align with the school’s academic standards.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results, with a focus on GCSE and A-level success.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme and be actively involved in school life.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department to enhance the learning experience for all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate new knowledge into teaching.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and review of the curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Chemistry at both GCSE and A-level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
  • Willingness to be involved in co-curricular activities and school life.

Preferred

  • Experience with Edexcel IGCSE Triple Award or equivalent qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a high-achieving academic environment.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technology.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

  • Competitive salary within the CLS Teaching Pay Scale (£40,480 - £65,150) with progression points available.
