Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized learning plans for students with autism and learning difficulties.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic student progress.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.

  • Engage in solution-focused approaches to support student wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special needs education.
  • Experience working with students with autism and learning difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with complex medical conditions and physical disabilities.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs frameworks and legislation.
  • Experience in curriculum development for students with diverse needs.
  • Familiarity with the Relational Culture Charter principles.
