Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualised teaching to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
  • Design and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Support students in developing life skills and preparing for transitions to new learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience working with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience with students who have complex medical needs or autism.
  • Knowledge of curriculum planning for students with severe learning difficulties.
  • Experience in behaviour management and support strategies.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and alternative communication methods.
