The Opportunity:
As a Class Teacher - Maternity Cover, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred learning to students with a range of individual needs. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, growing provision that values innovation, creativity, and therapeutic practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Monitor and review student progress, including social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with multi-professional teams to create therapeutic learning environments.
- Support students in developing communication and oracy skills as part of a holistic curriculum.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a positive, inclusive school community.
- Contribute to the development of a bespoke curriculum aligned with national standards and EHCP outcomes.
- Promote student wellbeing and encourage positive behaviour through consistent, supportive practice.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic approaches and person-centred practice.
- Ability to design and deliver individualised learning plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in a specialist provision or therapeutic environment.
- Knowledge of the Skills Builder Framework and EHCP outcomes.
- Experience with outdoor learning and experiential education.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and differentiated teaching strategies.
- Experience in supporting students with autism or complex learning difficulties.
