Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the school’s strategic development and implementation
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher to deliver the school’s vision and mission
  • Manage and develop staff, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Oversee pastoral care and student well-being initiatives
  • Work closely with governors to align school objectives with long-term goals
  • Monitor and evaluate academic and personal progress across the school
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs and inclusive practices
  • Experience in school management and strategic planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and parents

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a special needs school
  • Familiarity with the therapeutic and nurturing approach to education
  • Knowledge of the Skills Builder Framework and EHCP outcomes
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation
