The Opportunity:

We are seeking passionate and experienced Class Teachers (SEND and PLMD) to join a supportive and inclusive school environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with a range of complex learning difficulties and SEND needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student care and development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using data to inform teaching and support strategies.
  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance teaching practice and support student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver school-wide initiatives focused on student success and inclusion.
  • Support students in developing life skills, communication, and independence in line with their individual needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience working with students with complex learning needs, including those with SEND and PMLD.
  • Proven ability to deliver individualized teaching and support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong understanding of educational needs and strategies for supporting students with complex learning difficulties.
  • Experience working in a mainstream or specialist setting with students who have SEND or PMLD.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
  • Experience in a specialist school or special education setting.
  • Familiarity with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and assessment placements.
  • Experience with teaching students across a range of ages, from primary to secondary.
