The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Class Teacher SEND/PMLD to join a dynamic and supportive team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with complex learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex learning needs.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans based on student assessments and targets.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Create engaging and inclusive learning environments that cater to diverse needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and carers.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities provided by the Trust.
- Support students in developing communication, cognitive, physical, and social skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special education, ideally with SEND and PMLD.
- Proven ability to work with students with complex learning needs and multiple disabilities.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and personalized learning approaches.
- Experience working in a mainstream or specialist special education setting.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Preferred
- Experience with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
- Familiarity with a needs-led approach to education.
- Experience in working with students aged 2-19 years.
- Ability to work flexibly, including part-time roles if required.
