The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Class Teacher SEND/PMLD to join a dynamic and supportive team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with complex learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex learning needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans based on student assessments and targets.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Create engaging and inclusive learning environments that cater to diverse needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and carers.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities provided by the Trust.
  • Support students in developing communication, cognitive, physical, and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special education, ideally with SEND and PMLD.
  • Proven ability to work with students with complex learning needs and multiple disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and personalized learning approaches.
  • Experience working in a mainstream or specialist special education setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
  • Familiarity with a needs-led approach to education.
  • Experience in working with students aged 2-19 years.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including part-time roles if required.
