The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to launch a new Textiles specialism. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new curriculum and inspire students in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a high-quality Design and Technology curriculum with a focus on Textiles.
  • Support students in developing practical skills and knowledge across key stages.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s Technology Department offerings.
  • Promote a culture of creativity, inclusion, and excellence in the classroom.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Engage with the school community to support student well-being and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status in the UK.
  • Relevant teaching experience in Design and Technology, with a specialism in Textiles.
  • Ability to teach at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, student well-being, and high standards of teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Food Preparation and Nutrition or Design and Technology.
  • Early Career Teacher with a strong desire to grow professionally.
  • Experience with innovative teaching practices and curriculum development.
