The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team as a Science Technician - Physics and Engineering to support students in their learning through practical experiments and innovative equipment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Physics and Engineering teams in setting up and conducting experiments.
  • Assist students in BTEC Applied Science with practical work and physics-related experiments.
  • Maintain and improve laboratory equipment, including the use of 3D printing and CNC milling.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and enhance practical learning experiences.
  • Ensure a safe and well-organized working environment for students and colleagues.
  • Provide technical support for a wide range of science and engineering courses.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's science and engineering facilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a technical or laboratory environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in a school setting.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Physics or Engineering principles.
  • Experience with 3D printing or CNC milling.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to support a range of science and engineering courses.
  • Interest in ongoing professional development and training.
