The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic team as a Science Technician - Physics and Engineering to support students in their learning through practical experiments and innovative equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Physics and Engineering teams in setting up and conducting experiments.
- Assist students in BTEC Applied Science with practical work and physics-related experiments.
- Maintain and improve laboratory equipment, including the use of 3D printing and CNC milling.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and enhance practical learning experiences.
- Ensure a safe and well-organized working environment for students and colleagues.
- Provide technical support for a wide range of science and engineering courses.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and training opportunities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's science and engineering facilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a technical or laboratory environment.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards in a school setting.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Physics or Engineering principles.
- Experience with 3D printing or CNC milling.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Ability to support a range of science and engineering courses.
- Interest in ongoing professional development and training.
