Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Latin up to GCSE level and Classical Civilisation at GCSE and A-Level.
• Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
• Support students in achieving excellent exam results, with a track record of strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes.
• Contribute to the department’s collaborative ethos and continuous development of teaching practices.
• Organise and lead enrichment activities, including excursions, competitions, and events.
• Encourage a love of the classical world through innovative teaching methods and personal specialisms.
• Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral responsibilities.
• Maintain the highest professional standards and support the school’s commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A good degree in classical languages or a related field.
• Experience teaching Latin up to at least GCSE level.
• Ability to teach Classical Civilisation at GCSE and A-Level.
• Commitment to student achievement and a passion for Classics.

Preferred

• Experience in teaching at both GCSE and A-Level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with enrichment activities and school events.
• A proven record of academic success and student engagement.
