Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Latin up to GCSE level and Classical Civilisation at GCSE and A-Level.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Support students in achieving excellent exam results, with a track record of strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes.
- Contribute to the department’s collaborative ethos and continuous development of teaching practices.
- Organise and lead enrichment activities, including excursions, competitions, and events.
- Encourage a love of the classical world through innovative teaching methods and personal specialisms.
- Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral responsibilities.
- Maintain the highest professional standards and support the school’s commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree in classical languages or a related field.
- Experience teaching Latin up to at least GCSE level.
- Ability to teach Classical Civilisation at GCSE and A-Level.
- Commitment to student achievement and a passion for Classics.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at both GCSE and A-Level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with enrichment activities and school events.
- A proven record of academic success and student engagement.
