Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging computer science lessons that inspire students and improve outcomes.
  • Support the school’s mission to ensure all students are ‘Ready for University, Ready to Lead’.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning in the department.
  • Design and implement strategies to increase student confidence and performance in computer science.
  • Stay up to date with developments in computer science education and integrate innovative teaching methods.
  • Work closely with students to build their numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to the school’s improvement journey through shared planning and professional development.
  • Support the school’s values and ethos through consistent behavior and high expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience teaching computer science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Commitment to the school’s vision of preparing students for university and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a values-led or multi-academy trust (MAT) environment.
  • Experience with integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
