The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Latin and Classical Civilisation to students across Key Stages 3 to 5 with a focus on academic excellence.
  • Deliver innovative and engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking and a deep understanding of classical subjects.
  • Develop and maintain high academic standards in the Classics Department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and support student learning.
  • Utilise digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote the value of classical education.
  • Support the school’s mission to foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and academic achievement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Classics and incorporate them into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Latin and Classical Civilisation at Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Classics.
  • Proven ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality, innovative teaching.
  • Digital literacy and the ability to integrate technology into classroom practice.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of inclusion, respect, and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
  • Leadership experience within a school or educational setting.
