The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Religion and Philosophy Teacher to join a dynamic and successful department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students across all age groups and contribute to a school with a strong academic record and vibrant co-curricular life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Religion and Philosophy across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and curiosity.
  • Manage a diverse range of classes, including compulsory courses for younger students and advanced GCSE and A-level options.
  • Support students in preparing for exams, including AQA GCSE and OCR Religious Studies qualifications.
  • Participate actively in co-curricular activities and contribute to the school's extracurricular programme.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental initiatives and events, such as subject conferences and philosophy societies.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject area and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Religion and Philosophy.
  • Experience teaching at both GCSE and A-level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and school community involvement.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA and OCR examination specifications.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or extracurricular activities.
  • Experience in leading or supporting subject societies or conferences.
  • Familiarity with HPQ (Higher Project Qualification) in Philosophy.
