The Opportunity:
As a Cleaning Staff member, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment across the school. Your work will support the school’s commitment to providing a safe, hygienic, and inspiring space for students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain classrooms, common areas, and other school facilities to the required standards.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used correctly and stored in designated areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Site Supervisor immediately.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and hygiene protocols.
- Assist with general duties as required, including preparing rooms for events or inspections.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly working environment at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in a cleaning or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as required.
- Good standard of personal hygiene and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work during school hours and potentially outside of normal working hours when necessary.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school or similar environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and students.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
