The Opportunity:

As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that all school sites across Leeds, Bradford, Greater Manchester, and Liverpool meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This is a vital role in supporting the school’s mission to create a positive learning environment for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the cleaning team to ensure all areas of the school are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Monitor and enforce health and safety protocols across all sites.
  • Coordinate with the Business Services team to ensure cleaning schedules and procedures are followed consistently.
  • Conduct regular inspections and report on the condition of school facilities.
  • Provide guidance and support to cleaning staff to improve performance and motivation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant cleaning and hygiene regulations.
  • Collaborate with site managers to address any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, consumables, and any incidents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a cleaning supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a school environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience within a multi-academy trust or large educational institution.
  • Familiarity with flexible working arrangements and hybrid working models.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of staff.
  • Understanding of the importance of hygiene and cleanliness in educational settings.
