Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Support the wider school community by contributing to extracurricular activities and student enrichment programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Work closely with pastoral teams to support student behaviour and overall wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching science at the appropriate level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development or innovative teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with science education technologies and resources.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student mentoring.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation strategies.
