Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Reception, ensuring a stimulating and engaging environment for young children.
  • Plan and prepare age-appropriate lessons that support the curriculum and promote early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, building strong relationships with students and supporting their personal and academic development.
  • Participate actively in the school’s co-curricular programme, encouraging student involvement in sports, arts, and other extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience for all students.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with appropriate teaching qualifications and a relevant degree.
  • Proven experience teaching in Reception or early years education.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values, including a focus on pastoral care and co-curricular engagement.

Preferred

  • Experience in a co-educational or Catholic school setting.
  • Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and early years frameworks.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student welfare.
  • Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively within a team.
