The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students in Years 7–11 with special educational needs and learning difficulties. This role is ideal for graduates seeking a stepping stone into teaching, offering valuable experience and career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs and learning difficulties in a structured and nurturing environment.
- Assist in planning and delivering learning activities that meet the individual needs of students.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure consistent support for students.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
- Provide one-to-one support where necessary to help students achieve their potential.
- Contribute to the creation of inclusive and engaging learning environments.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant qualification or degree, preferably in education or a related field.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to the school’s Christian ethos and values.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a teaching or learning support role.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
- A passion for education and a desire to support student achievement.
