The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students in Years 7–11 with special educational needs and learning difficulties. This role is ideal for graduates seeking a stepping stone into teaching, offering valuable experience and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with special educational needs and learning difficulties in a structured and nurturing environment.
• Assist in planning and delivering learning activities that meet the individual needs of students.
• Work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure consistent support for students.
• Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
• Provide one-to-one support where necessary to help students achieve their potential.
• Contribute to the creation of inclusive and engaging learning environments.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A relevant qualification or degree, preferably in education or a related field.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to the school’s Christian ethos and values.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a teaching or learning support role.
• Experience with behaviour management strategies.
• Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
• Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
• A passion for education and a desire to support student achievement.
