The Opportunity:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs within mainstream classes. This role is vital in helping students reach their full potential and is a key part of the school’s commitment to inclusion and excellence in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in mainstream classes in a calm and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized learning activities tailored to students’ needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates to the SEN Manager.
- Work collaboratively with the Inclusion Department to implement strategies that support student success.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
- Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support the Inclusion Department.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A valid DBS check and positive references.
Preferred
- Experience in a mainstream classroom setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices.
- Experience with curriculum planning and delivery for students with diverse needs.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
