Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3, GCSE and A Level.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the latest industry practices and technologies.
  • Manage and maintain teaching resources and equipment, including CAD/CAM tools and 3D printing facilities.
  • Support student learning through effective assessment, feedback, and individualised support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental development.
  • Promote the school’s Catholic ethos and values within the classroom and wider school community.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching Design Technology at KS3, GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong knowledge of Design Technology subjects, including Product Design, Food, Textiles, and workshop materials, tools and processes.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM technologies such as 3D printing and laser cutting.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Strong track record in raising student achievement and attainment.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
