The Opportunity:

As a Community Officer, you will play a key role in building and running a vibrant programme for former pupils and staff, while supporting the Head of Community and Development in managing a variety of school events. This is a dynamic and impactful role that supports the school’s mission to foster a strong and connected community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive programme for Old Vikings and other members of the school community.
  • Coordinate and manage a variety of school events throughout the year, ensuring they are engaging and well-attended.
  • Work closely with the Head of Community and Development to deliver strategic objectives and initiatives.
  • Maintain strong communication with former pupils, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the admissions and marketing functions of the school.
  • Promote the school’s values and vision through community engagement and outreach.
  • Ensure all events are well-organised, inclusive, and reflect the school’s ethos.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall experience for the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in event planning and community engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Experience working in an educational or community-focused environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.

Preferred

  • Experience in alumni relations or development work.
  • Familiarity with educational institutions and their communities.
  • Knowledge of fundraising or marketing strategies.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
