The Opportunity:
As a Community Officer, you will play a key role in building and running a vibrant programme for former pupils and staff, while supporting the Head of Community and Development in managing a variety of school events. This is a dynamic and impactful role that supports the school’s mission to foster a strong and connected community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive programme for Old Vikings and other members of the school community.
- Coordinate and manage a variety of school events throughout the year, ensuring they are engaging and well-attended.
- Work closely with the Head of Community and Development to deliver strategic objectives and initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication with former pupils, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Support the admissions and marketing functions of the school.
- Promote the school’s values and vision through community engagement and outreach.
- Ensure all events are well-organised, inclusive, and reflect the school’s ethos.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall experience for the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proven experience in event planning and community engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Experience working in an educational or community-focused environment.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
Preferred
- Experience in alumni relations or development work.
- Familiarity with educational institutions and their communities.
- Knowledge of fundraising or marketing strategies.
- Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
