The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English across the full secondary age range with creativity and high expectations.
  • Inspire and challenge students of all abilities, fostering critical thinking and self-expression.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that reflect a deep understanding of literature and language.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme.
  • Participate actively in the school’s vibrant Co-Curricular programme.
  • Support the school’s mission to develop reflective, purposeful adults and global changemakers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Take on additional responsibilities, such as Second in Department, where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language.
  • Experience teaching across the secondary age range.
  • Commitment to a values-led, inclusive educational environment.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme.
  • Involvement in or leadership of a Co-Curricular programme.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to school-wide initiatives and professional development.
  • Experience in fostering critical thinking and communication skills in students.
