The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time Maths Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This role offers the chance to take on a Leadership Responsibility as the KS1 & KS2 Maths Coordinator, with an additional allowance. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality mathematics education and contributing to the school’s academic and community life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Maths across KS2 and KS3, delivering engaging, well-resourced, and differentiated lessons.
  • Monitor and report on student progress through regular assessments and evaluations.
  • Maintain a disciplined and stimulating classroom environment with regularly updated displays.
  • Attend INSET sessions to enhance teaching practices and collaborate with parents and tutors.
  • Participate in school-wide activities, including cover duties and boarding house evening duties (pro-rata).
  • Support KS1 and KS2 teachers with pedagogical strategies and resources.
  • Assist in quality assurance through book scrutinies, learning walks, and data analysis.
  • Contribute to curriculum development by creating end-of-year assessments and supporting the Department Development Plan.
  • Manage maths-related admissions assessments and coordinate entries for national competitions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Maths at KS2 and KS3 levels.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Commitment to the holistic development of students in a boarding school environment.
  • Punctuality and a high standard of professionalism.

Preferred

  • Experience in KS1/KS2 coordination.
  • Leadership experience or interest in taking on additional responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with national maths competitions and admissions assessments.
