The Opportunity:

As a Computer Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum to students across key stages 3 to 5. You will inspire students to reach their full potential and contribute to a supportive, high-performing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad, inclusive, and well-differentiated Computer Science curriculum across KS3, GCSE, and A Level
  • Generate and sustain high levels of motivation and achievement in all students through innovative teaching methods
  • Support students in developing computational thinking, programming skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency and excellence across the department
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral responsibilities and co-curricular activities
  • Keep up to date with developments in Computer Science and education to ensure best practice is adopted
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear feedback to students and parents
  • Promote Computer Science within the school to encourage student interest and engagement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, Java, or similar) and the confidence to teach these at GCSE and A Level
  • Secure and up-to-date subject knowledge in the Computer Science curriculum
  • Enthusiasm for the discipline and the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities
  • Experience of teaching KS5 is essential
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting a diverse range of learners

Preferred

  • Industry experience in software or project development
  • Experience of, or a genuine interest in, leading enrichment activities such as coding clubs or competitions
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
